About Vicki McGuinness

VickyI have worked in steel, mosaic, oils, glass paints, murals, decoupage and cartooning before turning to religious jewelry and rosaries. I have been traveling the world for years. My first foray into beading was a sold-out line of cigar box handbags, carried at the Gustav Mauler Cigar Bar in Las Vegas. My work can now be purchased at ArtisTree in Reno, NV and The Littlest Dress Shop in Claremont, CA. It can also be seen in Clever Magazine's June 2007 issue on-line.

Over the years, I have painted porcelain sinks, done mosaic work on pedestals, frames and tables, re-finished furniture, decoupaged doors, painted kitchen and fireplace murals, created a cartoon character of a local chef for his monthly newsletter (for severl years), painted in oils by commission, done steel sculpture (the blowtorch is my favorite artistic tool), and worked with acrylics and pastels as well. My secret love is photography. I attended UNLV's art school for two years. My introduction into beading I owe to my best friend Shannon. My perseverance in the world of art I owe completely to the love and dedication of my darling husband Sean who has stood behind me and encouraged me every step of the way. My inspiration I owe to my beautiful daughter Marcella, who's joie de vivre never ceases to amaze me. I am grateful to the Catholic Church for the faith that sustains me ever day, no matter what trials come my way.
